How many of you have girl friends that you see on a regular basis, do things with or talk to often?

I think all parents need to have girl nights, guys nights, couples nights and nights out with their spouse without their children.

This is great and I don't disagree with you.

most of my best friends around here initially came out of shared experiences-- theater, exercise classes, writing groups, even some former work chums.... if this is a priority for you then perhaps finding ways to get out and meet people who share common interests might be the way to go?

When your girls were growing up did you have adult women friends?

I think it is great that you have such great relationships with your DDs. I never had that with my mom. I know other women who have friendships with their mothers and sisters, but I just don't have that. One sister lives on the other side of the country. The other sister is 15 years older than me and we've never been that close. And my DDs are 14 & 11, so we have a few years yet.

I know this wasn't to me but...one thing I'm pleased with is that my adult woman friends are a part of my daughters life too- many of them come to her shows, some have even 'babysat' her (at 11 she hates that phrase) and just recenly when I got my dd a phone for the first time my dd asked one of my friends if it would be ok to text her once in a while.

I agree. I have friends from all places, high school (and even before that), dd's friends parents, ds's friends parents, co-workers, etc.

Yeah-lol! We do a lot of that on the weekends too when we don't want to drag the kids along to the stores and do errands.
