How many of you have girl friends that you see on a regular basis, do things with or talk to often?

Oh, check your PM, please (it is under "quicklinks" on the right hand side of the main page).

Yeah, that happens here quite a bit too. One of my profs used to commute from here to Chicago (his wife got a job here, and he didn't for the first year or two). One of dd's friends' dad commuted from here to DC for a couple of years (he finally tired of it and they moved there this fall).

LOL, I have several professor friends who commute from Athens to Komotini. They go by plane, stay up there 4 days to teach, then fly back home. Two other friends live here in Athens and teache in Patras. They drive or take the bus to Patras (3 hours), stay 3-4 days, then back home again. Now those are some long commutes.

It used to make me sick. Then, about a yar ago, I tried it - on a whim. And I can read in the car now! I have no idea what changed, but my trips to exchange kids with the ex are much much more pleasant now.

As a kid reading in a vehicle made me super car sick. Over time it's just sort of faded. For awhile, I could only read in the front seat of a car, but now I can pretty much read anywhere/anytime - even seated on a train, facing backward!

I've been thinking about getting some books on tape for my commute now though. It's long (45 min to an hour) and other than a short, quick stint on I 95, it's along several slow 2 lane roads. Lots of traffic and traffic lights. I often get home feeling stressed/aggravated from it. I think distracting myself from it with a book (music doesn't cut it anymore) would help.

Thanks for bringing it up, actually. I was planning on hitting up the library on my way home anyway, now I have this on my mind!

I so badly wish that I could read while in a moving vehicle.

We have a ridiculous amount of hotels. We have 5 (I think 5, maybe 4) new ones in the past 18 months.

All because of college sports. Sigh.
