I'm participating in a program called Stillwater Soles ... a community walking program aimed to encourage participants to increase their daily activity level. The goal is to walk an average of 7000 steps a day.

Its really cool. I put this thing on at 11:15 this morning and I've walked 1300 steps already. That's a far cry from 7000 though!

The program runs for 6 weeks; should be fun.

Choose your friends by their character and your socks by their color.  Choosing your socks by their character makes no sense and choosing your friends by their color is unthinkable.

No, but I'm intrigued. Living in the fat capital as I do (it made national news that our mayor appt. a fitness czar yesterday--cracked me up), I've always wondered how much I walk daily. Maybe I can borrow one from my dad...

Sounds fun!

Oooo....that sounds cool! I know I walk more than a mile per day...I count the blocks! Whenever my family visits they are pooped out by the first day...they can't believe how much NYers have to walk to get around.

Now only if that would translate to weight loss.....*sigh*

Funny you ask...I've been doing this for a couple weeks now. And because I'm so anal, I'm keeping a spreadsheet to track it. The part that really intrigued me was the difference between workdays and weekends. I average about 8,000 steps per day on weekdays, and 15-17,000 on weekends! No wonder I feel like I go to work to relax. ;-)

This program requires you to log each and every day in order to participate for the prizes. You do it online so you can see your progress. Should be interesting to see how I do ... or don't do.

BTW, where the hell have you been girl?

I ordered one through work, but I haven't got a call saying they have come in yet. I'm curious to see how I do. Before, I would think I could easily get 20,000 (I am a nurse and am on my feet all the time), but now being back in school I am sitting at this computer all day doing school stuff. Ugh!

I'm only up to take care of my son and play with him and some cleaning in between.

I've been lurking, but really haven't had the energy to participate much. This whole business of combining two families and making room for everyone's stuff is just way too exhausting.

SO & I are also vying for online time right now. I need to go ahead and get the network setup so I can get online with my own computer.

Maybe soon I'll catch up on my sleep, the kids will leave me alone for a minute, and I'll have some time to get back into things here!
