In an effort to move on from the other thread, Lol......  What is helicopter parenting IYO?  Do you see it only at school or in other settings as well?  What does it look like?  Provide examples if you can, Thank you.

I have both seen and received the pre-printed cards (and yes, I do find them rather tacky AMD impersonal) but the custom here dictates that when signing the book, the kind thing to do is to omit one's address and write "no card", to relieve the bereaved family from having to send out a bazillion of them. Hand-written thank you notes are sent out to people who send flowers or perform some other kindness.

Said what?  There is zero context to know what you are asking, there is a little green quote button on the right hand side, it is a very nice button.

Oh that's putting it lightly...slammed for not being in the same room at a party yet now the claim is that they don't go to high school parties.  Quite the contradiction in just a few short threads.

No, what is true is what my other region friends say also :)

Since they aren't posting here and I don't know what they have really said...that is not supportive of your point in this debate.  If you would like to post actual comments or actual data instead of "friends" then let me know, otherwise I'm going to have to go with what has been posted and regional it is.

I've dropped off if no parents stay. I stay (my oldest is in middle school) more often than not because home parties generally have an adult table and buffet. A different menu/tables for the children's food. I don't know if it's regional as I don't think I live near Hazeleyes. This is from Thardy.

Yes I know, I read her comments and she states that she doesn't know if it's regional or not because she says that she doesn't know the region that you are in...so then how can you use her comments to support your individual theory if you don't know what regions she is in either?

All the while not agreeing with me (and others from my region) who say it's regional?  Hmm.

To me Savcal...friends are important. I would rather work less hours and less time catering to myself and spend time with family and friends. Nothing wrong with a small amount of friends but that would not stop me from meeting new people and having relationships with them and maybe even having those people get close to them too.

Well, the responsiblity I have at my job doesn't really allow for me to work less hours.  With authority and responsibility comes harder work.  I don't spend much time catering to myself; enough that I'm not a martyr, and enough that I'm mentally healthy, but not much more than is necessary.  And, really, much of my "catering to myself time" is that time I spend with my BFFs.  That time refreshes and renews me more than almost anything else.

But yet BORD got crucified for not remaning in the same room with her HSer.
