In an effort to move on from the other thread, Lol......  What is helicopter parenting IYO?  Do you see it only at school or in other settings as well?  What does it look like?  Provide examples if you can, Thank you.

why do people think that "I'm sorry that you think that" is an appropriate debating technique? And why are people "sorry" about the way other people think or feel? It's a little bit odd to even be "sorry" that someone has a different opinion from you, but what is the purpose, in a debate, of expressing sorrow over someone's opinion that hurts no one else? I suppose it makes sense to be sorry hat people have opinions that influence public policy, I.e., sorry that people don't understand the needs of children so that they vote against school bonds or something, but "sorry" that someone doesn't understand someone else's private wishes? Don't get it. And don't bother being sorry.

You're too much of a social butterfly to just drop your kid off and leave.

I'm sorry you don't understand why a SAHM unlike yourself would want/need a nanny.

Bord, yes, but how about weddings? :D The cards at the wakes remminded me of a wedding we went to a few years ago. On each plate at the dinner was a pre-printed thank you card. Those were the thank you notes. Now, THAT is tacky.

No Jam. There are prayer cards and people bring mass cards and then they all get thank you cards for attending.
