She said: "I think that my own wedding was beautiful, but I didn't *really* enjoy it"

And I agree with cherub that that's a bummer, to not really enjoy your own wedding.

The idea that MyCherubs would experience an iota of saness over anything that happened to Feathered Friend is incredible.

Okay first cherubs and now your experience should some how suddenly change the experience of the woman I know? Just because it didn't prevent you from having a good time, doesn't it mean it didn't affect someone else in a different way and if they got married the second time around, lot less stress perhaps and a lot more fun.

Yea, I find myself doing that from time to time...this Christmas season seems to be one, lots going on at work and with the kids...I need to breathe and enjoy. The whole taking time to smell the roses thing.

No, not really. Not everyone wants a traditional wedding. My parents and inlaws and perhaps dh wanted us to have a traditional large wedding.

We compromised. Husband and I eloped to Tahoe with our two best friends for an absolutely beautiful and fun-filled wedding. My parents gave us a reception with our extended family a few months later.

I would have been miserable (extremely SAD) with a traditional wedding, but if my husband really wanted it, I would have done it for him. I'm sure it wouldn't have changed our commitment to our life together and I would have got through the day. He loves our wedding story now and hopes our children keep up the tradition, Lake Tahoe wed or bust.

Ripped apart? Disagreement doesn't = ripped apart no matter how one bends over backwards to agree.

I don't think so, there are times when I have gotten caught up in the moment with all the things that went wrong and didn't enjoy something.
