That's sad. The stores I have been to had very professional salespersons and weren't skeezy at all.

I know that you are not legally obligated to buy anything, but most people understand that the reason the hostess is having the party is to earn discounts or free merchandise, or to help out a friend who gets discounts or free merchandise if someone books a party off of her party. The consultants cannot be very happy about the waste of their evenings at parties where no products were sold. I personally would feel pretty cheap going to one of these sales evnts and partaking of the food and drink without purchaising something, even if I did not want it or need it....which is why I hate those events.

Oh well. This is what I have heard. I haven't been to one in YEARS and didn't purchase anything.

I don't go to all of them as they get really expensive. Why not just say no then?

I do say no to about 3/4 of the invites to those things, but when it is a good friend, I have felt it would be impolite not to attend if I could or at least buy something from the catalog so she can get her free whatever.

I don't attend any of those parties. Thankfully, I've mostly stopped receiving invites...still get a few though, and I jsut respectfully decline.

Well then, your second or third hand expereince must be more reliable than my first hand experience.

Did I, or didn't I, say anything about "living like I do"?
