I guess this is why edgs finds your posts "non juvenile". Because Bawwahhaa!! and lol!! while berating BFF speaks of gravitas.

Interesting or not ...

My best friend has been my friend for 25+ years (I've lost count, laughing out loud).

She drove hundreds of miles (with a screaming baby in the car) to be with me when my mother passed away, she attended my high school graduation, she was the first person I told after dear husband proposed, she wore a dress to my wedding (she's worn two dresses since, one for each of her son's weddings), she's the one I call in the middle of the night, when I just need to talk.
I was the first sitter that her kids ever had. I am the one she calls when she's down about her business, her husband or her kids, I've traveled hundreds of miles (in less than 48hours) to be with her when her dad passed....

There are so many things in between that words can't describe. I would never belittle my relationship with my best friend, by simply saying that she's a girl friend...b/c she's so, so much more.

i certainly hope a BFF would be respecting the kind of relationship you have. was anyone trying to insinuate it DOESN'T mean that?

actually, like LOL aka laughing out loud, bwahah is what i'd likely hear IRL too. my BFF aka best friend forever belongs to a younger set, IMO, YMMV.

If you are gonna make up these new rules, the least you could do is follow them. Thanks. :)

Cherubs seems to think that to simply call her a girlfriend is appropriate. It isn't. She's not a girlfriend. To call her such, would be disrespecting the relationship.
