i don't know if kids "suffer" but it might go back to the generational thing.

No, that is not true, not at all.

IMO, there can never be too many conversations about respect and/or lack of respect. However, I understand why you disagree, although it's also clear that more conversation is needed on this subject.

My sister used to have to cover the snap on h er jeans with a bandaid, because it would break out. I had some allergic reactions as a kid too, but not as bad as hers. Even now, I can't wear "cheap" jewelry for more than a few hours without my ears getting red and itchy.
