Yes, the mass thing is very nice too. He doesn't understand the spending tons of money to have a party, AGAIN thing-lol!!

Unfortunately unless there is some major sweeping papal reform we can't have such an anniversary mass. nor could we be married by a priest.

I think it is sad because you spend all that preparing (I was engaged for 2 years) and then you don't even enjoy the actual day. I wouldn't want to do the planning over again (for some reasons-lol!!) but would do the day in a second. We enjoyed ourselves fully. Our kids still ask us to watch our video all the time-lol!! They saw the love and the fun we had.

I highly reccommmend the backyard tent version as a great way to throw a party

we figured out we did the whole wedding- our outfits, the food, the tent, the booze, the invites and the programs for just shy of five grand - and worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY

Yeah, very sad. We watch the video and it is amazing how many have passed, how many have divorced, how many we have no clue where they are anymore. Amazing what others have done since that day, the amount of kids they had, where they moved, what they are doing for a living, etc.

Sounds very nice. We plan to go away on our 20th and I might just try and surprise my dh with a renewal ceremony (even if it is just the 2 of us). We'll see.

Dh always asks me if I don't want to get married again, to him that is. He likes the idea, and we already did it twice anyway (secular and religious).

I hear the food was terrific - we had a pasta station and lots of hot and cold appetizer type things -- of course the only thing I ate was a piece of garlic bread Liza didn't want so this necessitated ordering $80 worth of pizza around 7pm for us to devour round the fire pit
