That would make it sad for your experience, but you can't assume that your feelings apply to a different situation....that's my point.

Yep, I love that place too. Dh grew up in da Bronx, so that is how he got used to shopping there. I liked it when I had to buy meat for many people, for example, because they had real butchers there. You could also get vegetables and other stuff that you wouldn't find in a standard supermarket.

For years we had Christmas Eve with some Italian friends who lived downtown, and so we would always go to Little Italy for midnight Mass. It was always quite fun, especially since the priest was usually smashed by midnight.

Yes, lol. It is sort of a caricature of all the most ridiculous aspects of Greek-American life (not Greek-Greek life, as all the Greek-Greeks took highly amusing pains to point out, lol). They are spitting on her lest their admiration of her will put the evil eye on her. Usually actual Greeks will do this in a highly stylized ways, simply by saying "tuff-tuff-tuff" to imitate the sound of spitting. They do not usually spit like in the film.

I have to tell with my personal expereince with catering weddings...it gets pretty crazy what some of these couples expect and the money they will spend... then some wll be miserable the entire day b/c something minor did not go right. Some have little to zero money left for the honey moon and are banking on the gift money they get to take their honey moon.

We just catered a wedding last year for a couple who have been married.. more than once . ...there over all cost of that wedding was way imo
