I will be off Thursday and Friday Thanksgiving week. The only difference this year is Friday will be a holiday. We are always closed the day after Thanksgiving but in the past you had to use a vacation day to get paid for Friday (or take it unpaid for those with no vacation days). Since the 4th of July fell on a weekend this year we did not take a holiday for it so everyone gets will get paid for Friday.

Unless I need to take a vacation day between now and then the 21st will be my last work day for the year. Christmas being a holiday and 7 vacation days.

DH will be off all of Thanksgiving week (combination of holiday and vacation) and Christmas Eve will b e his last work day for the year (Christmas-New Years are all holiday).

The University closes on Thanksgiving and the day after. It also closes from 12/24 through 1/3. So I get 9 paid holidays for the two combined. I'm also taking an annual leave day the day before Tgiving and maybe on 12/23.

I take the week of Thanksgiving off as my vacation time from the bridal shop. I'll still sew for my ah business. Dylan gets the entire Thanksgiving week off from school so at least I'm home and can take time off to do stuff with him. Since Christmas lands on a Friday this year, I won't get any time off then as I only work Mon-Wed.

The library is closed Wed.-Fri. for Thanksgiving. At Christmas, we're closed 12/24-12/28 and 12/31-1/4. I haven't decided whether or not I want to take off 12/29-12/30 or not.

I'm a lot shorter on vacation at the end of this year than I am normally. I ended up with a week off when the Cavalier died and I hadn't planned on that, but I have a few days left over, plus I've got Veteran's Day off .

Anyway, I get Thanksgiving off and I'm taking off the Wednesday before and Friday after.

I'm also taking the Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve off.

Next year (knock wood) won't be quite so heinous, since as of the end of this month, I'll have paid back all the sick leave I borrowed for my knee replacement and will be able to take sick leave when I'm sick, instead of vacation, as I've been doing. (I had a week of vacation used as sick leave this year, too).

Which is good, because I'm burning about 8 or 9 days of leave in January for our regular pilgrimage to MouseWorld ;)
