How do YOU answer the credit card question?

Why can’t you just use your credit card?

Cash can be seen and touched and kids get that, usually at an early age,

We've told the kids that using a credit card is like buying money.

Yeah, us too. We have explained that when you use a credit card you need to have the money to pay it. That is about it.

I guess Joel was about 7 or 8 when the question came up, and I just told him that I couldn't use the card because if I charged too much, I wouldn't have the money to pay it off at the end of the month.
