honestly, this has not been a topic of conversation with my kids yet, i expect learning to balance a checkbook, continued encouragement about making wise decisions wrt money to come before the tricks and rewards of CC!.
Yeah, us too. We have explained that when you use a credit card you need to have the money to pay it. That is about it.
Finances, like sex, and every other subject that we talk to our kids about, has been a long series of age appropriate conversations.

I guess Joel was about 7 or 8 when the question came up, and I just told him that I couldn't use the card because if I charged too much, I wouldn't have the money to pay it off at the end of the month.
