Why can’t you just use your credit card?

Cash can be seen and touched and kids get that, usually at an early age,

The thing that cracks me up the most about this comparing is no one really has any idea how much the others make so to compare is pointless...unless of course somone told the board how much they do make...

Do you think that is what frugal living means?

The answer to that is anyone's guess, and will probably remain that way. ;)

Exactly and NO where was I comparing. I was making a simple statement of how cs payments are on top of families paycheck(s).

So it was inaccurate to state that your fico score allowed you to furnish the apartment. You could have furnished it with cash even if your fico score sucked.

I know quite a few ppl who get child support and the majority use the money to support their children not the parents lifestyle.

OTOH, she also said that it meant she could furnish it right away instead of spending years saving, so it is a bit confusing.

I do..,

I think child support is given and should be used to help keep the family unit running, if that means paying electric bill, so be it, groceries, so be it...helps pay the mortgage so be it, medical bills so be it ... Thats called supporting your kids...not your lifestyle...
