How do you define a "Sheltered" Life?

Thought I'd bring up this topic as some people think I have lived a "sheltered life" because I went from living in my parents home to getting married and not living on my own. I was curious of what everyone's definition of living a "sheltered life" is.

In the world of someone who thinks because she knows someone who has gotten "extra" pay for being in a war zone, then being in the military means they must be making more money than someone with a civilian job. You know, THAT world. ;)

3K to 29K IS alot for many people as a bonus. I get a bonus every year NO WHERE near that and I have a civilian job.
