I have decided that we spend too much on food, but I am stuck in our current rut of the 10 or so meals I prepare.

We average $150 per week for 4 people.

Feeding my family is complicated. My dh and my son are extremely picky. My husband doesn't like chicken and my son doesn't like any kind of sauce or condiment. My daughter eats very few meats, and I eat a high protein, high fat, low carb diet.

That is where part of my budget is high as well, higher priced proteins and good quality ingredients.

Way too much, I would say about $200/week, give or take $50-100 in either direction depending on the week and events.

We all eat breakfast at home, we all take lunch most days and eat dinner at home about 75% of the time, depending on the week and activities so it's not too bad.

Where my son is going to school, barbecue is hickory smoked chopped pork with vinegar sauce. I have no idea what they call outdoor cooking.
