we use our visa/debit card for virtually all purchases and we can get those extended warranties with that, i LOVE the convenience of paypal for online purchases.

We buy almost everything with our cc - then pay the balance off each month. Partially because of ease, partially because of added protections, and partially because of the good cash-back benefits on our cc.

We run everything through our credit card, and pay it off twice a month. We get all of the perks and never carry any debt.

Does paypal take it straight from your bank account?

You can do it either way with paypal.

MIL used to say she runs all her purchses this way too and pays off the balance once a month, i think the subject came up when we were talking grocery expenses and that's the way she "budgets".

paypal pulls directly from my checking account, yes. the convenience is not having to take out my card and type in my cc account number every time i shop a merchant that offers paypal, paypal is a secure site that saves my information there.

Paypal drives me crazy though, because you can only attach one paypal account per checking account. So, since DH linked accounts first, I get annoying messages from Paypal about linking my account, which they won't let me do.

I suppose one could use it as a budgetting tool, or one could already have an idea of their spending habits and use the card for the perks. I do not doubt either scenerio.
