Kids and spouses gone all night, or even overnight, and you had no other obligations ...

What would you make/order/get/eat?

I would get some good bread, some good olives (bleu cheese stuffed, garlic stuffed, etc - in their own oil/juice), some good cheese, maybe some hummus ... and wine. lots of wine.

I"m divorced with one teenager at home so normally if my son is at his dad's I'll make no effort at all--either a frozen Healthy Choice dinner (which probably isn't all that healthy or satisfying) or make a sandwich.  But this week he is gone from last Sat. to this Friday and I thought that I can't go 4 weeknights in a row not eating well.  So last night I went to the gourmet market on the way home.  Last night for dinner I made myself a spinach salad with chicken, dried cranberries, apples, and walnuts with a raspberry vinaigrette dressing.  It was really good.

I'm often alone at home for dinner n Friday nights, and I usually just raid the fridge for leftovers and make myself something with them. Often it's a frittata.

If DH were out of town something with onions.  He hates onions and cannot even stand the smell so I never cook with them.

If he was just out for the evening probably  something with chicken.  I like it a lot more than he does so I usually limit it to only two dinners a week.

Ooooh, I haven't made a frittata in a long time. I need to put that on the meal plan soon.

Leftovers, sandwhich, cereal.... I hate cooking and I wouldn't bother if I were alone for the evening. :)

Probably something like cheese & crackers or hummus.

I almost always get Bread Co when I'm alone for dinner...or I eat cereal. ;)

I am a widowed empty nester.  I am all alone for dinner seven days a week.

(Well, during the school year I pick up my grandson from school two days a week and take them dinner.)

My health and well-being depend on my eating well.  I cook stuff.  Fresh stuff.  Heavy on the vegetables and light on the meat.  I try new recipes, not having to worry if other family members will like it.
