As an advocate and student studying health + human services this scenario is sad and I'm glad child welfare is involved. WDYT? Is there a break down of the system, according to her, here or is this just somebody placing the blame on others?

"I've even gone as far as already stating that no two (other) chronic conditions are alike - cancer and diabetes as an example." ------ Yes, you have said that. But it is really not clear why you think that mental illness is controversial or how it is that mental illness is different from other diseases. Perhaps you would rather not say. If that is the case, let me know, and we can drop it. I only keep asking, because I would really like to understand where you are coming from on this issue.

"Oh yea, I remember your own stakes about PPD/PPP wannabe. " ------- "Own stakes"? Don't we all draw on what we have learned from our own lives?

I'm sorry, I don't understand what you mean here, Jambles....but mental illness is by its very name an illness. Do you dispute that?

You are the only one so far who has suggested that mental illness is somehow different from other chronic illnesses. I would genuinely like to know what you mean by that.

Again, stretching what's been said, keep it up if that's what works for you.. It doesn't for me..... We agree that mental illness is a chronic illness but the similarities stop there. I've even gone as far as already stating that no two (other) chronic conditions are alike - cancer and diabetes as an example. If you want to further this debate, what more is it you want to debate.. Where does your advocacy lie mops? I believe there are more outlets and help for mental health than my own child's terminal condition to be quite honest but take stories like this one alone and that becomes it's own beast I guess.....

I'm sorry. I didn't realize your daughter was terminally ill...how long does she have?

"Oh yea, I remember your own stakes about PPD/PPP wannabe. We were long overdue for that now weren't we?" Why can't you just talk to other people without getting all nasty and personal? People want to understand your views on the subject.

No, I'm sorry. I thought you said your son is terminally ill. How long does he have?

{{shudder!}} No thanks. I'll take the health care system in the United States of America over the system in Greece anyday. The ignorance from the Greeks on the subject knows no bounds. To call migraines an illness or juvenile diabetes somehow curable just belies the immense ignorance.

I'd hope the add/hd is under control... That's what she's said here before.
