As an advocate and student studying health + human services this scenario is sad and I'm glad child welfare is involved.  WDYT?  Is there a break down of the system, according to her, here or is this just somebody placing the blame on others?

Actually, you would be wrong. As a REALLY old woman, I often connect with college age women who are interested in the tech field. It's not a friendship, it is a mentoring and networking  relationship, just like Queen's. These ambitious young women want to get ahead in tech and I can help them get there. The one's who don't seek out help through many channels, often remain unemployed or under employed.</p>

That's great.  It's called mentoring.  Wannabe who has been a SAHM for years is not mentoring anyone in any field of employment.  Her purposes are very, very different.

I like very witty and apropos snark and cynicism. Not just stupid insults or lame attempts that fall flat.

And by the way, a psychotic state is one in which the person had lost contact with reality. There are some times when a psychotic state is abundantly clear. We used to have a woman who would go off her meds and believe that she was an advance ambassador from Pluto whose mission it was to destroy all earth calendars and time pieces in preparation for the invasion when we would all be forced to go on Pluto time. She would walk into strangers' homes and smash clocks and tear up calendars. One of the French kings of the Midfke Ages would periodically go into a delusional state and believe he was made of glass and would shatter if anyone touched him. Unless you are willing to enter into Plutonian or Crystalline reality, realizing these people are in a psychotic state and need/needed help and protection from themselves isn't too hard.

If you're going to judge others posts at least be consistent about it.  What is it you like, Snark and cynisism?  What separates one snark from another?  Thanks.

Queen has pointed out that her advisers are not her friends. But just as a possible debating point, what is the advantage of only having friends one's own age? I've got friends in their 20s all the way up to friends in their 80s. Why would you want your friends to fit into some limited demographic cohort?

"Please stop diagnosing others. You're not a psychiatrist." Who are you talking to and about what, Jambles? It wasn't me who referred to Queen as psychotic.

As it should be, hon.   As it should be.   Women need friends around their own age.  Surrounding oneself every year with unwilling women 20+ years one's junior and women who are by Bord'd admission yesterday, a decade and more older is not surrounding oneself with women one's own age.

It is, isn't it.  Oh the horrors of nasty posts like that said about inlaws, it goes on even over there but the chastising is only flung one direction....  You're right, This board used to be one we could be honest and share some pretty common things.  That doesn't happen anymore and that's too bad.
