This summer iVillage is teaming up with the President’s Challenge Program to help 1 million Americans get active! With our Get Moving Now Community Challenge you’ll get daily physical activities along with nutrition tips from our Challenge coaches who are members of the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition: Cornell McClellan, Drew Brees, Dominique Dawes, Allyson Felix, Grant Hill, Michelle Kwan and Dan Barber.

To celebrate, we’re giving away one football signed by New Orleans Saints quarterback and President’s Council Challenge coach, Drew Brees.

Hope to see you on the team!

Good question.. there's usually lots of activity and involvement but I'll ask the CM over on the Health Channel for her comments, maybe she'll have some stats.

I know I've had lots of feedback in a thread I started over there in June. My personal view is that if I feel I want to check in with my team in working toward a team goal, then I will enjoy an amount of success and that's probably a common feeling with people who join fitness challenges. I'm not sure on most people being already active though, I think joining a challenge is a way for people who know they need to do something anyway to get motivated and being on a team gives a sense of accountability..
Talk to you in a bit!

Hi! Yes-they truly do work and I am living proof that they do work! Not only was my life changed, but we have many members who have not only lost weight but have managed to change their lives and improve their overall health from an iVillage challenge. For several weeks you get email assignments (and with this current one, a place to log your activities) and once you've been doing it for 4-6 weeks it becomes a habit-a good one at that. Many people who participate in one will come again and again to our challenges because they really can help you get motivated to stick to a healthier lifestyle.

Are you considering signing up for this one? Try it for a week or two and see how you feel. :)

That is the problem the PE teacher is having at my sister's boys' elementary school.
