My apologies for not replying sooner to your comments. We're looking into all of the complaints that we get and *are* listening.
If you could provide by replying to my post, a bit more info including the browser you are using (incl. version #), operating system, any pop-up blockers, and anti-virus software. A time frame of when you started noticing the issues will be helpful too.
Thank you and I'll post updates as soon as I have them.
Not really. iVillage likes being able to report profits, just like every other company in the world and the money has to come from somewhere. they stopped charging us, it was inevitable that annoying ads would increase as a result.
That had been happening to me for a long time with my IE, so just within the last month we started using Firefox. So far it's great & much faster. I use safari on my mac at work & that has no problems either.
It worked on my DH's laptop. I haven't tried it on our desktop, though. It mentioned something about cookies and how the links would come back any time that you refresh cookies or something like that.
Well, I'm relieved to find it's not just me with this problem. I thought I'd downloaded some hideous virus that Norton didn't catch and I was going to need a new laptop.
And yeah, I hate the bing ads. I've been tempted to just fill a post with words like "Viagra" and "Nexxium" and "NBC" to see what happens, but I don't want to get banned.
for example would give you a new paragraph break and turn the text blue. At the end of the paragraph, you'd put to turn the color back to black--generally, that's not much of an issue, but if you were using multiple colors to differentiate between what several people were saying, failing to end the font color at the end of each paragraph would lead to some strange cascading colors (the next paragraph would default back to the last color not turned off)
A google search of "html coding" will give you webpages with lot more instruction and examples of coding you can use.

It wasn't just me!
Ok, so I think I solved the problem. I am now using Firefox, and I installed AdBlock Plus. It loads so fast, it's like I'm not even at iVillage.
Anyone else find it odd that the CMs and the higher ups were strangely silent in this thread? Hmmmmm.

You can hard code the colors in if you want.
