Have any of you ever used one of these faux finishes on your laminate or formica countertops with any success?

Something like what's featured in this video. I'm considering giving it a try to give my kitchen bit of an upgrade.

That's what we're considering doing. Dh's work wife did it in her bathroom and it turned out great.

"Eventually we'd like to do a polished concrete..." I really like concrete with a nice finish, for floors too. If I had my druthers, I would have a kitchen with concrete and stainless. I like industrial kitchens.

Yes, I think it would! I really like the midnight copper kit:

I bet it would be pretty with some high-powered, focused lighting to really bring out the sparkle and depth.

I've seen some cool concrete.  My husband is in line for a big promotion, and if he gets it, we are suddenly going to have to do a lot of business entertaining, so I may have to do some long-put-off upgrading.  I'm for sure upgrading my kitchen island, but have already decided on copper countertops for the island.  Copper-veined granite for the rest of the countertops would be cool, don't you think?

That's really interesting.  Do you think it would work on already existing granite?  I mean, if you had granite but wanted to paint over it to change the color?  I really like the copper veining.

Here are the FAQs and I don't see any specific warnings that you shouldn't cover up existing granite. I'd probably contact the company to double-check. Surely you wouldn't be the first person who got tired of their existing countertops and wanted a change!
