We are going up to Michigan in August to attend a family reunion on my dad's side. While we are up there we are going to Niagara Falls with my brother, two sisters and their families.

We are going to the Club Med about 2 hours north of here for Memorial Day weekend and in June we are going to Hilton Head, SC. I am looking forward to both trips.

We usually save our travel for winter months-its too beautiful here in the summer to travel outside the state!

Dh and dd are going to hike the chilkoot trail in June, and then in July we will drive up to my grandmothers place-she and my uncles own a hunting lodge about 400 miles away from us (very remote!). We'll stay there a few days.

We do a lot of camping and fishing in the summer, go to the beach (not the typical idea of a beach though-these are for clam digging, not sunbathing). We drive down the coast and visit dh's sisters, etc.

I may take dd to California sometime in August, her bio grandma (biomoms mom) lives there and dd hasnt seen her in a couple years now. But thats not a for sure thing, we'll just have to see!!!

Oh yeah, crazy plans! On the day I turn forty, I am boarding a train at 4:00 am for a two-day trip from Salt Lake, to Chicago, then two hours farther to the small town along the shore of Lake Michigan where my grandparents live. I'm going with my DH & kids, plus my sisters and their kids, and my mother. Altogether, 5 adults and five kids, ages 11, 9, 9, 6, and 2.

We are going to stay in a cabin on a Lake Michigan beach for a week and visit with my grandparents on their nearby farm. My grandparents will be celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary!

We decided to take the train rather than fly just for the fun of it. Back in 1970, when I was 6, my family made the same train trip. I remember it as a grand adventure.

Not sure yet. We might go to Maine or we might go back to Myrtle Beach and use our timeshare. The one in MB is beautiful.

We have set up a few smaller ones, but no big sh-bang one as of yet. We are going to Anaheim/Disneyland for 5 days in May. We are going to go to Yellowstone to camp for a week in July with some friends. We are going to Colorado at the beginning of August to see the cubbies play that series and go to the Waterworld place (we've been watching too much Travelchannel, lol). That's all we have reservations for as of yet.

We are currently contemplating a fall Hawaii, that would be our big vacation of 2004, but it still hasn't come together yet, it's still in the maybe phase. We've thrown around another DisneyCruise or an alaskan cruise, but hawaii seems to be coming up more than the others. We'll see.

I love heading out and away with the family and with DH's business taking off in 2002, we're finally able to do just that!

As I said above, we're heading to either Maine or SC in August, and we're heading to Orlando in the Fall as well as a long weekend to Newport, RI (just DH and myself and another couple). So that's three trips in 4 months. I LOVE GOING PLACES! We're talking about Aruba in the fall of 2005.

You know, it's never been a big deal to them. Ds#1 started traveling almost monthly at 6 weeks because we still lived in Chicago and I was always coming "home" to Utah to see my family. And, ds#2 started traveling by 4 months back to Chicago (although not as often) when we'd go back to see dh's family and our friends there. We started vacationing (as in not just travel to see family) by the time both ds's were one, so they just got into that groove. I was/am a sissy mom. I want to take the kids everywhere with us. Ds#1's first cruise was at 1 1/2........... and he LOVED IT! We've been doing Disney since they were both infants and it's fun to see ds#1 grow into a new ride each year! It's just a part of our lives and we've never had a problem :)

Edited:

Nope, now that I think about it, ds#2's first travel was at about 8 weeks because we went back to Chicago for an early June wedding in 2002, and he was born that April! I remember because dh bought a damn car while we were there because they had the exact model/color he'd wanted and couldn't find here............ and then he refused to have it carriered home, and I refused to fly alone him with a 3 year old and a newborn so we drove back. That sucked, because we did it straight through 19 hours. I still have not forgiven him for that one and it's been two years. That was probably the closest dh and I have been to divorce (wink)
