So, it's okay to EAT the same protein more than once for dinner in a week. Just not for one person to COOK the same protein more than once for dinner in a week.

Wow, really? Have you NOT read any of my posts today? "I" don't usually prepare the same protein but I have and probably will again at one time had it in the same WEEK if it is a leftover and after a holiday or party but I don't usually serve the same type of item, no matter if it is made a different way in a normal week in a row.

Yeah, I think I do. I have had MANY of an Italian meal and the next time you go to one that the host puts a bunch of fruit on the plate with the spaghetti or meatballs and sausage (like Savcal's pic that she provided with fruit on the plate as a side), come talk to me.

If you're eating a multi-course meal, usually there would be nothing on the plate with the spaghetti and meatballs, depending on how many courses.  Do you often eat your meals in courses for a typical weekday meal?  We usually serve everything family style.  DH usually eats his salad first.  I usually eat bites of mine between eating the rest of my meal.  If we have fruit, we usually save it for last.  It may or may not be on the plate as we eat the rest of our dinner.  A lot of the time, it's in a small bowl to the side, especially for something with a lot of liquid like apple sauce.

I asked you that, to list the 7 proteins that you had in the past....you backflipped out of that question, lol.   You said seven individual proteins each week, in your zeal to mock others....you simply misspoke.

What's there not to understand in why Italians like bread with their pasta?

We put everything out, on a regular night. If I am having a holiday or party, I will do courses.

It's called family tradition. And sometimes kids grow up to pass that down to their own families, Sunday nights are spaghetti and meatball nights for us. Memories in the making I'm told, Love hearing that! :)

Apertivo - a small drink to stimulate the appetite

Appetizers aka antipasti - cold and hot meats, pickeled veggies

First course - soup, pasta or risotto

Main Course - beef/pork/fish/chicken

Side dish/Salad - potatoes, salad,

Fruit/cheese

Dessert/drinks

Sometimes there was a palate cleanser of a fruit sherbet in between courses.  There was time between each courses, it was not served family style rather each course was served, then cleared.

True. Like in school they have taco tuesday and pizza on fridays. Also, I think they had breakfast on Thursdays in the elementary school once a month and some type of chicken on another day. Kids love that and pizza has always been a Friday thing at homes because it is the end of the week and everyone is tired and doesn't feel like cooking. Kind of like Fridays in lent. It is just a tradition for people to go and get a pizza.
