The memorial service went well...

Our minister was a nervous wreck since we had 8 speakers but it went great. I had several people tell me it was a beatiful service that was really uplifting. I gave a speech about Devin and some of the funny things he did and how he was not limited by his cancer. Then his mother and father spoke. You could really feel Devin's presence.

The service was packed. They had to put chairs in the back and the parking lot was overfilled.

"He had his faults and I had mine but we loved each other so deeply. We had glorious children and I had 7 great years with him. I was so lucky."

You are the most incredible woman.

I am so glad the service went well.

>>The service was packed. They had to put chairs in the back and the parking lot was overfilled. I had nursery available and it was packed too. I think it is an awesome testimony to how Devin affected so many lives.<<

It absolutely is. And also what a wonderful testimony to how many people care about YOU and your kids.

Happy New Year Kristi!

All I can think is ... wow. You are such an inspiration! You are clearly a remarkable woman and Devin was a lucky man. It is so beautiful that you are able to find that silver lining. My xh is dying of lung cancer, and reading your posts has given me words of wisdom to give to my dd who is trying to come to terms with losing her father, and who is struggling in terms of relating to him. I just wanted you to know that your words have been so helpful and I am so grateful.

You've affected lives too hon. I was intiitally thinking of us here on the board, but you affected Devin's life too. He couldn't have been that wonderful person and been who he was without you by his side. Without your faith and love and support. I have a feeling, without havign met either of you, that you two fed off each other; that it was a pretty symbiotic relationship.

Peace be with you Kristi.

Choose your friends by their character and your socks by their color.  Choosing your socks by their character makes no sense and choosing your friends by their color is unthinkable.

What a beautiful tribute to your DH and your marriage. Yes, you were very blessed to have had Devin in your life. We all are blessed to have you in our lives. You're such an inspiration.

Kristi, you're going to have good days and bad days. Let us be there for you through all of them.
