How many do it?

During the school school I work arounds DD's school schedules so work from about 8:15-3:13. Since they have been off for the summer I have been working from about 7:00-12:30/1.30.

Lurker here with my answers:

I work 7:30 to 4 monday through thursday and 7:30 to noon on Fridays. During the summer I take a pay cut and work tuesday though thursday and 1/2 day fridays. I love being able to spend more time at home in the summer, and only wish i could do it through out the year.

I thought about modifying my hours for the summer but decided not to rock the boat at work. I work 2 full days and 3 days from 8-2. I did modify my schedule this week for Zak to go the church camp. I have been working 2 days 9-3 and the other days 9-2.

I wish I could work less hours but we are trying to pay off debt and my husband is going to be laid off in October. We are trying to get at least 2 bills paid off before then. It just bites though to have to work when it is pretty out!

I just discussed this with my supervisor today. My boys will be out of school the end of June (yeah, we get out *very* late!). My schedule in the summer will be to work 4 9-hour days a week, and telecommute 1 4-hour day. During the school year, my work week is weird. It goes like this: Mon. 7-4:30; Tues. 7-2; Wed. 7-4:30, Thu. 8:30-5, Fri. 8:30-2. I work through my lunch hour in order to maintain this schedule. It gives me the opportunity to pick my boys up from school 2 days a week. I LOVE Tuesdays and Fridays during the school year.

i usually work at most 8-4 during the school year, and since dh is home with the kids for the summer i bump that back to 7-3 or even 6-2; i also do more hours at home during the summer than the winter, both additional hours to comp time for vacations or flexed hours to fit work in during weekend naps rather than weekdays. sometimes i miss really spending time with the kids in the mornings during the summer, but i also enjoy coming home earlier then.

In my experience, just about everybody does it to some extent. Even my mgr is leaving 2.5 hrs early 2 days a week to make his sons baseball games.
