Are you watching any of the Olympics? What's your favorite?

Did you ever have any Olympic dreams, maybe as a kid?

Do you know any Olympians?

Why do you think Putin NEVER EVER smiles? (lol)

Would you like to attend the Olympics someday (as a spectator)?

1Are you watching any of the Olympics? What's your favorite? I don't usually watch much, usually catch some of the ice skating.

Did you ever have any Olympic dreams, maybe as a kid? Not at all.

Do you know any Olympians?  No.  But I heard one speak this summer and she talked about as a kid setting of the goal of going to the Olympics to be a xcountry skiier.  She told her parents this when she was about 9 & they told her--that's a great dream and all, but really you are not very good at it!  LOL she said she wasn't and the rest of the talk was about hard work, yadda yadda.

Why do you think Putin NEVER EVER smiles?  Stressful job-tough, cold war, USSR/Russia image to uphold.

Would you like to attend the Olympics someday (as a spectator)?  Only if it came to my town.  I wouldn't go out of my way to go to one.

>5. Maybe.  Probablyn not.  There's often talk of trying to bring it to the DC/Baltimore area.  I'd likely put the house up for rent for the duration and then get the heck out of dodge.

LOL GH-Anchorage was in the finalists for Olympics about 20 years ago and at the time I was thinking everyone in our town would have to put someone up in our extra rooms, just to make it work.  There were a lot of hotels, we have always been a touristy place, but it just didn't seem possible at the time.  Since then, they have built so many more hotels--every time you turn around there is some new hotel going up.

Are you watching any of the Olympics? What's your favorite? No, I find it quite boring.

Did you ever have any Olympic dreams, maybe as a kid? Ha! That would be a no.

Do you know any Olympians? Yes, two - cross-country skiing and synchronized swimming (seriously! But she is  a smart and good girl).

Why do you think Putin NEVER EVER smiles? (lol) ex-KGB, nuff said.

Would you like to attend the Olympics someday (as a spectator)? Not really. I had the chance at the Athens Games, but we only went to the finale of the marathon, which was half an hour or so, but even that seemed rather pointless to me. I just can't get into watching sports at all. I would rather be at a lecture on astrophysics or something, even though I don't understand much about astrophysics either.

Are you watching any of the Olympics? What's your favorite? -- As much as I can, of everything but hockey and xc skiing.   Probably halfpipe this year.

Did you ever have any Olympic dreams, maybe as a kid? -- only a wee bit. I was a gymnast and was obsessed with Nadia Comaneci.   I was pretty good, but not great.  Unfortunately we moved to a town without a program when I was 9.

Do you know any Olympians? -- OSU has a guy who won wrestling.  My cousin trained with Shannon Miller under Bela Karyoli.

Why do you think Putin NEVER EVER smiles? (lol) -- Dh says the KGB beat all the smiles out of him.

Would you like to attend the Olympics someday (as a spectator)? -- I like the IDEA of it, but the reality of it holds no desire for me.

Are you saying you've never seen Putin before last night?

Yes, I like watching the ice skating and I have a special interest in Kris Freeman this time too.  I wanted to be like the swimmer, Tracy Caulkins many years ago.   Yes I do.  Maybe he does and you just don't see it.  Not really.

It's been on but I haven't paid much attention to it.  I am not really into any of the events, but I love the camera angles on downhill skiing.  Yes, I know that's probably somewhat goofy.

Did you ever have any Olympic dreams, maybe as a kid?

No.  I have never had any type of athletic aspiration.

Do you know any Olympians?

Personally?  No, but I have met and conversed with Greg Louganis.  Is that maybe a little bit close to the same thing?

Why do you think Putin NEVER EVER smiles? (lol)

Because his name is Putin?  ;)

Would you like to attend the Olympics someday (as a spectator)?

Maybe for like half a day.  More than that and I'd be bored and sore.

A little here and there. Figure Skating.

Did you ever have any Olympic dreams, maybe as a kid?

No

Do you know any Olympians?

Yes, Maria Michta, went to my high school and her sister is on my dd's track teams. Another racewalker who is a neighbor. He was in the Olympic Trials of 1988, 1992, and 1996.

Only saw him last night so don't have much experience lol.

Would you like to attend the Olympics someday (as a spectator)?

It would be nice.

1. Yes, but it was tricky finding time to watch all my recordings, with a quilting class in the middle of the weekend :)

2.  No.  the only sports dreams I've ever had was to drive at the Grand Prix at Monaco (and those were all before I was old enough to drive).  Mainly it involved driving the course at Monaco while Jackie Stewart did voice over commentary.  :D  I had a HUGE crush on Jackie Stewart as a girl.

3. Nope.  Although all the hoopla around Baltimore over Michael Phelps and I think one of the women gymnasts lives in the Rockville/Gaithersburg/Germantown, MD area, and you'd think we were all buddies :D  But I've never personally met either one.

4. Bad dentistry ;)

5. Maybe.  Probablyn not.  There's often talk of trying to bring it to the DC/Baltimore area.  I'd likely put the house up for rent for the duration and then get the heck out of dodge.

Yes, ice skating and half pipe

Yes, I wanted to be Dorthy Hammil.

Yes, I know a couple of them, even seen their gold medals.  Very cool, imo.

He has a lot of stress.

Yes, I would like to attend. We thought about it a couple of years ago, we could have re-arranged our travel a bit to attend the London games but it was just so expensive, we decided to pass.
