Actually, it was both rude and inane. It is rude to ask personal questions about people's fnancial situations, and it is inane to expect that anyone would confess to going into debt for Christmas presents, even if they had bee out of work for six months and their only child was dying and had oonly three months to live, because all that question was was rude and fishing for an opportunity to be ruder.

Really? With all you snobberry about how your family just isn't the kind to eat organic and all that,, and all your snide comments about people who buy organic all of a sudden you are acting like you are on the high rodd her? Puh-leeze.

We make something similar with canned sweet potatoes, brown sugar, butter and chopped pecans, but no marshmallows. It's delicious, but I kind of forget it's sweet potatoes and think of it as dessert. :> We just had baked sweet potatoes with dinner last night, and those I have to have with just butter and salt.

Yes, exactly, lol. I have no problem with sweet potato pie, for example. In fact, I love it. It is just the "contamination" of dinner with sweet stuff that I can't deal with. As a kid I could not stand the traditional red currant jelly served with game, for example, nor mint jelly with lamb.
