1, Nothing, it is going to be a sucky week.

2. If we can get the timing to work out we are going to meet an old friend in Dallas who we have not seen in over 20 years.

3.  Probably the flower bed.  It took a long time to finally get something  that works.  Favorite plants would be the roses.  We have three rose bushes and they are all in bloom.

1.  What are you looking forward to this week? Going to a swanky do tomorrow. It will be boring most likely, but I get to debut the cool jacket my mom brought me last week.

2.  What are you looking forward to this summer? Celebrating my birthday with my first cousin who was born 2 days after me. We turn 100 and are planning a party.

3.  What's your favorite thing about your yard/deck/outside area?  Do you have a favorite tree.plant/flower? My outside area is the extensive archaeological park/pedestrian area around the Acropolis and related old stuff. One of the things I like about it is that they have planted it with indigenous plants, so there is rosemary and olives, orange trees and jasmin etc.

Exercise class. 3rd week and I have lost 2 lbs already and lost 2 inches in my hips Laughing

Friends wedding and 20th Anniversary Cruise Laughing

3.  What's your favorite thing about your yard/deck/outside area?  Do you have a favorite tree.plant/flower?

My patio where I can sit outside in any weather (it is open but covered). Daisies, sunflowers. Love my dwarf cherry blossom (even though it has blossomed for the season and is done) and my Japanese Maple.

1. Well not too much, this week, as it's kind of a letdown after last week's sewing expo, but the bug man is going to come spray the perimeter of the house (outside) because the ants here are just legion.  And I want to unpack the things I was taking to quilting classes so I can get to work on some projects.  There's a Good Luck Block that I started in class on Friday that I'd like to finish up, and I have a pot holder to make for a pot holder exchange at my Treadle On gathering next month.  I'm going to paper piece that block and I'm looking forward to that as well.

2. I'm taking a week off at the beginning of June.  the first part of the week will be a stay-cation so I can get caught up in my sewing room organization and the last part will be the annual Lancaster County Treadle On gathering in Holland, PA.  It will be nice to meet up with my fellow treadle geeks again :)

3. I love how green my yard is and I love how it's responding to my efforts to reclaim it.  The former owner is a widow and the yard was her husband's love.  But after he died in 2003, not much effort was put into it and I've been hard at work reclaiming it--there was a massive creeping charlie infestation when I moved in and I've been doing battle with it.  Last year's efforts made a huge difference, but I still have two fairly large patches to treat again this year.  Also I dug out two massively overgrown forsythia bushes last winter and cut back another one clear to the ground.  I was going to dig that one out, too, but there was a small tree growing through the middle of it and I really like the tree. If I dig out the forsythia,I'll kill the tree, so I'm just going to cut back the forsythia every fall and hopefully the tree will eventually crowd it out completely.   And my rose, which has had a bad case of black spot mold, which I've been treating for 2 years, is looking very healthy and strong this year, so I think it has also turned a corner.

What are you looking forward to this week?

My DD turns 14 on Wednesday! We'll take her out to dinner to celebrate- having bout 10 of her friends for a party on Sunday.

2.  What are you looking forward to this summer? My beach time in Ogunquit and a family vacation to Hilton Head - oh and seeing my dd in some summer theater productions!

3.  What's your favorite thing about your yard/deck/outside area?  Do you have a favorite tree.plant/flower?

I love sitting on the deck in that wonderful time from about 5-7 before it's evening and the sun is still bright and we're all three sitting there just gabbing.. my wife and I with cold glasses of pinot grigio or a nice hard cider (Angry Orchard!) , our dd with a lemonade or water, and a nice plate of grapes, brie, and crackers to share.   That? is heaven to me.

We have a couple of planters but nothing fancy - I kind of suck at keeping plants and flowers alive

1. What are you looking forward to this week? - My birthday on Tuesday.  Not doing anything special until Thurs, when I'm going out for cocktails with my office.  I'm also looking forward to a weekend that has NO PLANS in it.

2. What are you looking forward to this summer? -- dunno yet.  Kids' schedules are up in the air until we hear from xh about Germany, so we've made no plans.

3. What's your favorite thing about your yard/deck/outside area? Do you have a favorite tree.plant/flower? -- I love my patio and that there are doors to it from my bedroom.  Can sit out and read or surf and have a glass of wine.  I like the size of my yard too. No favorite foliage in my yard.  It's not very landscaped.

1.  What are you looking forward to this week?  Planting my vegetable garden and putting in flowers.

2.  What are you looking forward to this summer?  I always love the summer.  I'm looking forward to all of the yummy fresh produce.  Tomatoes fresh off the vine, yum!

3.  What's your favorite thing about your yard/deck/outside area?  Do you have a favorite tree.plant/flower?  Probably sitting on the swing on the front porch.  I really like a hanging fuschia-- I still need to buy one this year.  This photo is from last summer.

Thanks! There's a big maple tree right there that shades the whole porch for pretty much the whole day. It's one of the coolest places to be outside in the summer. I have a bird feeder on the tree, and I love watching all of the birds while I sit and read or knit.

1) I am using this week to get caught up on a gazillion things between trips.  Just got back from a five day professional meeting; going astronaut stalking in two weeks, and will have house guests the minute we get back, so need to get everything ready before I leave.   Looking forward to creating order from chaos, and also getting my flowers and planters planted.

2.  Busy summer ahead.  The younger son and I are heading out for a long weekend in Tucson, then DH and I are taking a three week sans kids vacation.  It will be the first time we've been away together longer than overnight in 21 years.  Summer school teaching in July, then three weeks in Europe in August.

3.  My favorite thing about my yard used to be sitting out in the morning having a cup of coffee and enjoying my flowers.  But now, I am very depressed about our yard.  Our whole neighborhood became infested with a fungus that takes ten years to get rid of, and it's killed five trees in our yard.  We've got four or five years to go.  My shade garden, which was beautiful (and costly) gets fried every year.  I put in some new trees, but they are too small yet to do the job.  So the last few years have been just hanging on until the new trees get big enough.  By August last year my yard looked like crap.  This year I am going to intersperse some sun/partial sun annuals and see what happens.
