I installed some wonderful apps for managing meetings and santa also gave me a wireless keyboard so when i have meetings to go to I can now ditch my endless legal pads at all the boards and committees I serve on so I bring the ipad and keep all the meeting notes organized on their instead...

and i'm also totally addicted to Subway Surfers.. ;-)

Jam-what are "practice" kids and I don't see that on your #4 question. Did I miss something?

She asked how many kids we "have."  Not the ones we used to have but threw out of the nest once we were done practicing.

the 11 inch ones aren't too bad! they dont' have a cd/dvd drive though so if that's important to you it's better to upgrade to the pro

When I was in elementary school, Apple had partnered with the local grocery stores to donate computers if the students brought in receipts from that store. We loved, loved, loved playing Oregon Trail. My dad bought our first computer when I was 5-- a Tandy 1000. He still has it, and it still works! I love my iPhone, too. I'm considering an iPad, but haven't made a decision.

When I was a senior in hs, I had a boyfriend who sold Tandy's (he was out of hs).

I'm more interested in portability for work than in watching DVDs.  And having something to take to conferences so I don't have to depend on their computers for power point presentations.  I use a Mac at work and at home and if I have to upload a presentation on a PC, there are something glitches.

"OK, I have a confession. ..." --------------- Bwa! Is this when I come clean about never having lived in Greece? I just made it up to seem more interesting. I have been living in Yonkers all this time, section 8 housing actually.

"I have a MacBook Pro." ------- It is my fave too. Last time I was playing with the idea of an airbook, just because they are cool. In the end I took another pro, because it really is versatile and useful. For playing and easy carrying, I have the iPad.

"Little expensive IMO for a young teenager (starting at $1,400)" -------------- My kid bought her first one herself. Before that we had bought her used ones, but she want a brand-new one, so she paid the difference herself. Her choice. We often get very good deals on near new ones off eBay and the like. But you have to know what you are buying.

" An iPad would be nice if I did more travelling ..." ------------ That was my excuse, and the fact that I was in bad shape and had to be really careful about lifting things for the longest time. Besides I got mine for "free." We used to spend a gazillion euros on our cell phones every year (not "we" strictly speaking, but rather one of dh's partners, but it is all on the same bill), so they give us a huge credit towards buying new phones. I didn't need or want a new phone, so I took an iPad instead.
