According to dd, in London a lot of them were not only gaudy, but also very, very short.

Yeah my youngest wants to start walking every night once it gets nicer out. Oh I just say that because I remember telling her to go to work as my other friends mom's went to work and they were able to come home by themselves. lol. She was always there.

Ahh, Ok.  My mom did return to work on a p/t basis when my youngest sibling started high school, It was a season tax kind of job and she worked there long enough to collect retirement.  We were on a bus line and every now and then she'd bring home these wonderful pastries from a well known bakery downtown, Those were neat memories, Lol.  But I know what you mean about having a mom who was always there and I still miss that even in these older years.

Yeah my mom went back to work when I was 19. She worked on and off (moves) for 20 years. She is loving retirement though now lol.

1.  What was the last thing you did for your kid?

I just washed some of dd's prep dishes while she finished dinner.

2.  What things do you like doing with your kids?

I like to teach them new things.

3.  What memories stand out about your own mom...  Good or bad?

I remember this one time when she bought me some fake UGGs for Christmas, and I was all like, "What the hell are are these, mom? I SAID I wanted UGGs, not some stupid dollar store ripoff!" Seriously, that woman is about RUDE.

4.  How many kids do you have?  Is it a # you planned for/wanted?

Just enough. Never planned.

5.  Do you have a pet(s)?

Yes. Two dogs, both are mixed breeds.

1.  What was the last thing you did for your kid?

I cooked dinner and paid allowances.

2.  What things do you like doing with your kids?

Today, we watched Sunday TV shows on Monday  OnDemand (Walking Dead with sons, Revenge with daughter) - Love them both. We also run together, so it's not all mindless TV watching.

3.  What memories stand out about your own mom...  Good or bad?

All good for mom when I was an adult(not so much as a kid) - she was a character. My mom was Gracie and she was married to a George. Look up George Burns and Gracie Allen for reference. She was one of the funniest and fun-loving people I've ever met, and my father was a long-suffering lover of Gracie's antics. Her last day of life, at 72, was dancing at an Irish festival with 100s of her friends after spending the morning with my daughter, her 3rd grand child. She loved life like noone I know.

4.  How many kids do you have?  Is it a # you planned for/wanted?

3, none planned.

5.  Do you have a pet(s)?

Wooley, xanax needing Lab, Bruno cattle dog/lab mix that keeps Wooley in line, and Chico cat.

1.  What was the last thing you did for your kid?

Got her some hummus and crackers to snack on.

2.  What things do you like doing with your kids?

Hanging out, walking, shopping w/the older one, coloring w/the younger one.

3.  What memories stand out about your own mom...  Good or bad?

She always told me she would rather know and not approve than be lied to. As a Mother, I totally get that now.

4.  How many kids do you have?  Is it a # you planned for/wanted?

2--It was pretty much decided for us and I've made my peace with that.

5.  Do you have a pet(s)?

Yup. An almost five year old, oversized golden retriever. And DS has a rather neglected by thriving anyway betta fish. I call it the fish that won't die.

On Wednesdays we wear pink.

Hubby and daughter both have fish. All but one of hubby's fish have been replaced at least once. Daughter had two silly gold fish for a year, one recently died, we replaced it and now the replacement has died. But the betta she has in her room? I think she's had it for two years, lol, and the friend who had it before her had it for at least a year.
