1.  What was the last thing you did for your kid? Sent her a pair of fleece-lined jeans she had ordered from LLBean. She probably will never wear them, since both the color and the cut scream "MOM JEANS!" But they are very cosy, so maybe she can pass them on to a homeless person.

2.  What things do you like doing with your kids? Mine is all grown.

3.  What memories stand out about your own mom...  I remember some of her clothes that I liked.

4.  How many kids do you have? 1

5.  Do you have a pet(s)? Yes, 3 dogs, former street dogs.

5. Do you have a pet(s)?

Yes, we have a year-old Maine Coon named MacIntosh, who is a little freak.  :)

1.  Ironed Dylan's shirts; took Parker to school for Joy; blew out eggs for Erica; took Angela to work.

2.  Hanging out with them.

3.  Great memories.  My parents were the cool parents on the block.  They dressed up to pass out candy at Halloween; mom baked Christmas goodies with us;  she sewed our clothes and they looked store bought (back when store bought meant something).  While mom didn't (doesn't) like all of our parenting decisions, she always supports them.

4. 4--3 grown girls and one 15 yo boy.  We say the girls were planned by us but God planned the boy.  Proof that God has a sense of humor.

5.  a rescue dog.

1.  What was the last thing you did for your kid?  (1) Drove him to school  (2) Loaned him my car so he can drive himself to school and do some errands

2.  What things do you like doing with your kids?   The usual stuff, but I have something special going with my younger one.  A few years back he set himself the goal of shaking hands with and having his picture taken with every living man who has ever travelled into deep space.  So we've been travelling all over the country together meeting astronauts.  We are down to the last five or six who hardly ever make public appearances, so he may have to settle for that.   But now he's expanded to the goal of meeting every living Mercury/Gemini/Apollo astronaut.  We're scheduled to have lunch with Scott Carpenter in May.  There are one or two more that he can kind of hope to meet if he's lucky, but after that....pretty slim chances.  The youngest of these guys is something like 76.  John Glenn, the oldest, is 91.  We did get a chance to meet him a few years back.

3.  What memories stand out about your own mom...  Good or bad?  My Mom just loved people and befriended everyone she came across.  Our house was always a little United Nations, full of people of every age, faith, nationality.  She was hard-working and kind.  Life didn't always treat her well, but she never grew bitter and seldom became angry.

4.  How many kids do you have?  Is it a # you planned for/wanted? We have two.  We would have preferred more.

5.  Do you have a pet(s)?   We most certainly do!

$250 for a dress, hunh?  Yikes indeed.  I had to buy a formal dress iover the holidays, and I tried one on that cost $200 but I refused to buy it even though I loved it....then I saw it last month, a size smaller, on clearance at 60% off.  So I bought it.  I still need to lose between 5-10 pounds before it looks really good (or invest in some killer shapewear)....but I don't need to wear it now until May....and hopefully, over the holidays, because ain't no way I am spending even a hundred bucks on a dress I can only wear once.....

We bought our former foster daughter a prom dress....she "needs" two-three a year.   Luckily she found one she liked for just over a hundred bucks.

I am kind of glad I got boys.

My mom taught me the best lesson as a child. "Accidents are accidents and things are just things" we never got in trouble if something broke b/c of an accident, things came after people and that lesson has driven most of my parenting ... experiences before stuff.. time together before things..and the perspective to know that a broken this or that is nothing worth getting upset over.
