DD1 and DD2 asked for new cell phones, they actually already have them.

DD2 asked for a new study Bible and is getting one.

Is was like pulling teeth trying to get ideas from DD3, finally about a week ago she gave me a list of CD's. But I had already planned on getting her a gift card from Hastings so she could buy her own.

The rest of the items they are getting are not items they asked for but things that I think they may like. DD1 is moving into an apartment next semester and is excited to have a kitchen to cook in instead of just a microwave. I got her all of the things needed for cookie making (her specialty) and a cook book. I also got her some DVDs.

Whenever DD2 comes home from college she teases our dog Red about taking him back with her. I got her one of those voice activated dogs. Also got her a gift certificate from Old Navy becuase she needs clothes.

DD3 is getting a watch, wallet, purse, scrape booking supplies and movie money.

My oldest son, Lee just informed me this afternoon, he wants a deep fryer. oh well. i guess he can use one of his gift certs for that. i got him a bunch of clothes on the clearance racks at kohls. they were mostly end of summer stuff, and since he lives in florida, they were perfect. also got him a phone, coca-cola clock, boxer shorts, socks, binoculars. cant think of what else.

dd asked for christmas dishes right before christmas last year, so i got her service for 8 at 80% off after christmas last year. also got her perfume, a chenile throw blanket, nemo,(got one for ds1 too) framed some pictures for them, more, but cant think right now.

ds2 didnt ask for anything special, so i got him two pairs of pants, shirts, hooded sweatshirt, skateboard, model cars to assemble and paint, leather all weather boots. a few more things, again cant think.

this year is not going to be as exciting as other years, but we all just want to be together, so anything else is icing on the cake.

Griffin asked for an Icee Maker, and DH caved yesterday and bought it. He also wanted a microscope, so I found one for $7.99 at Pic N Save. No regrets if he loses interest. Garrett asked for nothing -- thank goodness. He's getting the Fisher Price Smart Shopper and a shopping cart.

FYI -- Griffin's friend has a small tortoise named Weener. He lives in a glass tank in his room. Neither Weener, nor his poop, smell AT ALL. He eats lettuce and gets soaked in water once a month instead of having water in the cage for him. Small poops, no mess, no smell. This one in particular, by the way, LOVES kids. Weener watches cartoons with this boy and loves to be held. Not once while I was there did I see his head retract into his shell. No worms. Some food for thought. I was told they're a little expensive, however. $75. But they live for years....

Well, DS1 wanted a PDA (aka Palm Pilot). He's 10. I asked him what he needed a PDA for and he told me to keep track of his "schedule." I told him, "You have cub scouts on Tuesday nights. That's it! Surely we can track that without an electronic gizmo." He's not getting it! He and DS2 are getting model cars, RC Super Slicks and Zip Zaps, and other boy stuff.

I totally don't blame you for not getting the reptile. I found myself in the same boat when I was about 15 years old, when my baby brother wanted a turtle really bad. I had money set aside for the whole set-up for his birthday (he was waaay into the Ninja turtles) but when my dad took me to the pet store I just couldn't do it because of those grubs... especially when the pet store lady told me you kept them in the fridge. *shudder*

Two days before Santa's big appearance, my ds4 told me he wanted a yellow truck that had a remote. It was not only a dump truck, but a front-loader too. He also wanted the *worker man* that drove the truck. Oh yeah, and the truck could be taken apart and built into other trucks. I don't even know if this truck exsists. So, I had to use my *momma manipulation* powers and asked him what he told the Santa at the mall.. when he told me he just told Santa a *truck,* and didn't specify what kind, that Santa will pick out one for him, trying to ward off any Christmas morning disappointment. In the end, he was thrilled with the truck that Santa chose special for him, even though it wasn't the battery-operated, rebuildable, remote controlled truck in yellow of his dreams.

Dd5 told Santa at the mall she wanted a *Princess Amora ballet girl with the boy she saw on the princess amora dot com on the puter.* This meant she wanted the Sleeping Beauty ballet dolls I showed her months ago on the Disney website when we were spending her birthday cash. That poor Santa at the mall. I wonder how many things he hears like that and is totally clueless.

This year much easier than last year. Last year, all ds (3 at the time) wanted was a dirty Buzz Lightyear. He already had Buzz everything, but he wanted a dirty one. We were very clueless, so we turned to eBay. I spent a small fortune buying up Buzz everything in hopes that we would hit the jackpot. We did, *dirty* Buzz was the silver one. He didn't know the name of that color yet apparently, and it looked dirty to him. With all the Buzz stuff Santa left out, it looked like a store display...

Next year I think I will take a trip to the Toy Store and kinda push them towards toys that exsist and are buyable.
