Dh and kids usually make me breakfast in bed. If it is nice enough out, I would like to go get some flowers and plant them :)

2. Do you remember your first ever mother's day? What made it so special?

1. Do you have plans for mother's day?

No

2. Do you remember your first ever mother's day? What made it so special?

No, it was 26 years ago and DD1 was about 8 weeks old so probably the most exciting thing or my life then was that was about when she started sleeping through the night.

1. Do you have plans for Mother's Day?

Not really. I will be driving down from an out-of-state conference. My plans will be to avoid going out to eat for lunch at any place except fast food because the lines will be interminable.

2. Do you remember your first ever Mother's Day? What made it so special?

Nah, we don't really celebrate Mother's Day. I find it to be a kind of commercialized syrupy-sweet stupid mess. I know its historic roots are much more radical, but having neither the energy to try to recapture those, nor the stomach for the whole Hallmark Holiday, I do my best to ignore the whole thing.

1. Do you have plans for mother's day?

Brunch at my house with extended family, including my mom and my mil. I feel lucky to have both of them.

2. Do you remember your first ever mother's day? What made it so special?

No, I don't remember it. The first mother's day I remember was a few years ago, when the girls were old enough to start fixing me an annual french toast breakfast, complete with cards and homemade gifts. The first time was particularly touching, and I still love it!

Yes.

2. Do you remember your first ever mother's day?

Yes.

What made it so special?

Um, really? Isn't this like asking a miner's family how they feel when their family member is found alive after a cave-in? I'm gonna let everyone guess what made my first mother's day special.

1. Do you have plans for mother's day? Yes. The annual Mother's Day home tour. It's a tour of 4-5 historical homes in our city. I've gone every year except the year that Dylan was born. It's my day without kids. Well, underage kids. Once Joy and Erica became mothers, they have been invited to go along.

2. Do you remember your first ever mother's day? What made it so special? The first one I remember that was memorial is what started my Mother's Day without kids celebration. Dh left me home with pizza, coke, and my sewing machine. He took the girls to the zoo for the day. When they came home, he made dinner and did the dishes. I've done Mother's Day sans kids ever since.
