Headed to the AG doll store so DD can spend her bday gift cards. Right now she's upstairs dressing herself and her newest doll for our adventure...

I clean as I go, although I tend to do laundry on Mon & Thurs. Everything else, I clean as I think it needs it and as my schedule allows.

3. Pets. Who is/was your favorite pet and why?

My current beast is always my favorite beast. Laughing But the one we have now is particularly special because he really does have the best temperment/personality ever. Even our dog sitter commented this week (and she's got one of her own of the same breed) that he's the best dog ever.

4. Beach or mountains? Why?

BEACH. But my boys prefer mountains. Knew DH did, found out last week that DS does as well. DD is a beach girl like her mama...so next year the girls are taking one for the team and we're all going to Yellowstone. Has anyone ever rented an RV for an expedition like that? B/c we're seriously considering it, the kids want to bring the pup--10 days w/o him was a long time!

5. Garage sale or Goodwill?

Having a garage sale in early Sept, what doesn't sell will get carted off to Goodwill. Can't wait to unload all that crap (mostly old toys) and get it OUT of my house.

1. Any exciting plans for the day or the week? Not really. I have to go down to Camdrnyon tomorrow to evaluate a purchase that a Swiss museum is thinking of making. That is a first for me. 2. Cleaning. Do you have a set schedule (Mondays laundry, Tuesday bathrooms, etc) or do you have another system? Kind if a schedule which tends to change every semester based on my teaching assignments. Saturday is always my heavy cleaning day. 3. Pets. Who is/was your favorite pet and why? I can't play favorites. We gave two dogs, four cats, and a bird. They're all my favorites! 4. Beach or mountains? Why? Either is fine with me but DH has a strong preference for the mountains, so that's where we tend to go. 5. Garage sale or Goodwill? I save for another charity but our neighborhood has an Annual garage sale where ic I have enough stuff, I will participate. I don't have to do anything except price stuff and set out tables. It's been awhile, though. Last year I didn't have enough stuff, and this year we were out of town.

You may pass DH on your way down, he's in that area for a work trip ATM. Can you say what you'll be evaluating?

1. Exciting? No. But I'm ramping up for lots of time in the sewing room as I need to make 4 quilts by the beginning of March, and I have a few other smallish projects for down there as well.

2. I do all laundry on Mondays, starting around 4am. That includes stripping the bed and washing throw rugs and cat beds. I also vacuum the basement (the upstairs gets vacuumed daily). The bedrooms, bathroom and tiny hall-like space between all three get mopped. (the kitchen gets at least a damp mop every day, and depending on how much kibble the cats have tossed around, it gets a soapy/detergent mop 2 or 3 times a week). The mats under the cat food bowls get washed on Mondays and if there are any dump runs that for whatever reason I couldn't do on Saturday, I do them on Monday. Payday Mondays also include a trip to PetSmart for 2 weeks' worth of cat food and litter.

The living and dining room area gets mopped on Tuesdays after the house gets vacuumed. Garbage cans get emptied as needed OR every Thursday night (for a Friday morning pick up). In practice that really just means th kitchen garbage unless I have a special project going on in the basement, such as when I recently built some Ikea furniture in the sewing room. The laundry room garbage can got emptied, the cardboard packing was cut down and ready for the recycle pick up on Friday and the styrofoam was packed up and shipped out to recycling at the dump today, along with empty paint cans and spray cans and the broken down metal shelf unit that I took apart yesterday. Only one more set of metal shelves left to dismantle and haul off now.

The bathroom gets generally cleaned every day and the bathtub gets scrubbed on Saturdays. The two porches and the kitchen patio get swept on Saturdays and also as needed (during the spring maple seed season and the fall leaf season that's every other day or so).

3. I adore all my current cats, but I think Buster edges everyone out just a little bit. He's just the quintessential Meezer boy.

4. Mountains. Which is not to say I don't love the beach, but in general I prefer mountains.

5. Goodwill. Life is too short to put up with the stupidity/cheats of mankind that garage sales bring.

I would seriously consider just buying a good used RV for a trip that far. By the time you've paid for the mileage, plus the rental, plus the gas AND trying to figure out what you'll need in it first and then buying the stuff you forgot you would need, you're better off just spending that money on one of your own and taking it out for a weekend or two and then putting that stuff in it.

UNLESS. You fly out and rent the RV at your destination and that pretty much negates bringing the dog which was the entire point of an RV to begin with.

1. I'm getting myself a week ahead in school so that I can truly enjoy during our upcoming weekend trip.

2. No formal system. The bathroom and kitchen are constantly maintained. The kids keep their living room pretty neat. Deeper cleaning happens when I decide it needs to be done.

3. My favorite is my current dog Frankie. She's sweet. She has this move that I call "power cuting": she places her chin on your leg and stares at you deeply with puppy dog eyes. She does this whenever I attempt affection for another dog, like, "No! I'm your one and only! Look into my gorgeous milk-chocolate eyes and long pretty eyelashes! You cannot deny me!"

I like the other dog just fine.

4. Mountains. Because I like to be high.

5. Goodwill/Craigslist.

Yes, it's going to be a crazy week trying to get ready to go out of town this weekend.

2. Cleaning. Do you have a set schedule (Mondays laundry, Tuesday bathrooms, etc) or do you have another system?

When it's dirty, clean it is my system, lol.

3. Pets. Who is/was your favorite pet and why?

My first dog, he was a wonderful guy. Currently with our schedules we have two cats and one is hilarious, the other a bit stand offish but still nice.

4. Beach or mountains? Why?

Both. I love both, thankfully I can go to either one fairly easily.

5. Garage sale or Goodwill?

Goodwill.

1. Any exciting plans for the day or the week? -- not really. Wine with some friends after work on Wednesday. Wedding reception on Sunday.

2. Cleaning. Do you have a set schedule (Mondays laundry, Tuesday bathrooms, etc) or do you have another system? -- when it needs cleaning, and we have the time to do so, we do it. Although dh does laundry on Saturday.

3. Pets. Who is/was your favorite pet and why? - I'd have to say Juke - the cat xh and I had when we first were married. He died when I was pg with The Boy. He was the best cat ever.

4. Beach or mountains? Why? -- either, depending upon the purpose of the trip. But if hard pressed to choose one, I'd say beach. I like the heat (with appropriate cooling methods such as water) better than the cold.

5. Garage sale or Goodwill? - both, depending on the circumstances. For a just a few things here and there, goodwill (actually, a local thrift store that supports a local hospice). If you've neglected things and need to get rid of a lot, garage sale first, then the leftovers to goodwill. (just did this - made $360+ on the garage sale).

BWAHAHAHAHAAHAH! You don't need mountains for that. Although it is legal in Colorado ...

1. Any exciting plans for the day or the week? Not so far.

2. Cleaning. Do you have a set schedule (Mondays laundry, Tuesday bathrooms, etc) or do you have another system? Yes, we have a schedule: The maid comes on Wednesday.

3. Pets. Who is/was your favorite pet and why? My dog boy, because he is a good doggie.

4. Beach or mountains? Why? Always water. I love the ocean, even though I do not swim or sit on the beach. But I love to be able to see and hear the ocean.

5. Garage sale or Goodwill? I prefer Goodwill stores.
