What would you find it odd to NOT know about your neighbors/neighborhood? For example, I would find it odd to not know the name of your next door neighbor, and I would find it odd to not know what school district your neighborhood is zoned to.

What do you mean "grew out"? Wouldn't you just go by the land survey you received when you purchased the home?

Oh, ok. By whom? I know my neighbor who put up his own fence did it himself. He owned the home though so maybe that is the difference, not sure.

Well, your neighbor should have called the utility company.

Maybe he did have someone come out, not 100% sure but I did watch him make the lines himself.
Oh no, I know, even renters can put up a fence if the landlord agrees with it. It is just easier when you own as you don't have to ask anyone :)

I don't think that's true. It would depend on where a person owns and where the other person rents. I could build a fence significantly easier if I rented where my parents live, than I can where I live, even though I own.

In Maryland you don't, unless you really *want* to pay a huge fine.

Not to mention the "social fine" if you break a line.
