How is it looking for you?

Ours will be fairly busy,   This morning I get my car back from the car hospital.   Then DH and I are going to the shoooting range.

Tomorrow the DDs and boy friends are coming over for dinner, looking forward to it, first time since DD1's surgery to be all together.

Next Sunday the family is walking in the Komen Race for the Cure.

A three day weekend the week before Thanksgiving to celebrate our 32nd anniversary.  Because of the journey we have been on this year it  will be our first time getting away so are extremely looking forward to it.

Have a Thanksgivng dinner at the vet center,  a Thanksgiving pot luck at work. before the real Thanksgiving.

Going out for Thanksgiving this year, usually we host but DH's dad and step-mother want to this year so we will be going to a restaurant, probably come back here for dessert afterwards.

4 day weekend for Thanksgiving.

Things are getting less crazy at work back to 35-40 hours a week rather than 45-50.

We went out one year. My grandparents had always hosted and my grandmother announced she was retiring and wanted her daughters and daughters-in-law to take over hosting. We had a couple of dinners at each of their houses, but no one was enthusiastic about hosting so one year we tried the restaurant thing. Everyone hated it. I volunteered to do it the next year, I think that was 1979. I've hosted every year since.

About 12 years ago we went out when the IL's wanted to hast.  Afterwards I told DH that I never wanted to go out for Thanksgiving again.  I missed the not having any leftovers.  But that is as not much of an issue any more.  With just the two of us I do not want a bunch of leftovers,  I send most of them home with my DD's.  So I guess they will be the one missing out on the leftovers.

The first or second year we moved to Texas we accepted friends invitation to join them at a restaurant for Thanksgiving, The kids were young and we had nothing else planned anyway, it was a Golden Corral/buffet kind of place. That's their family holiday tradition but that one experience was enough to know it wasn't right for me/us. My sister does Thankgiving with both sides of the family so the expected company will be huge and that's our plans this year. I can't believe it's already November, where has time gone, Lol. Some of my fb friends have started a grateful/thankful list for the month there and I think that's an awesome idea, there's a lot to be thankful for! My kids first quarter just ended so we're onto a new quarter already and there is class work I need to tackle too. DH is always busy with work and he is traveling to Colorado this month.  He has not yet replaced his volvo and the other guy's insurance just wants to "settle" now, It's going to be interesting to see how that turns out. My new JDRF friend/minion has a list of different events going on this month and I may have to decide on one or two to catch up with her in again.

I can't think of whole lot more than this.

We already walked around Jefferson Landing and did the courthouse between sessions yesterday. Nice park, with trees, overlooking the Mighty Mississippi. Nothing like a crisp fall day in the Midwest!

Have fun making memories!

<<How is it looking for you?>>

This is a real changing of seasons for us....the family schedule changes with the sports seasons changing, that always takes a bit of adjustment on everyone, figuring it out until a routine develops.  But the month is nice because the main sports don't have games until December, so the evenings during the week are quieter for the most part.

I think we have decided to spend Tday in the area and not travel to dh's family, we will spend it with mine.

Work will be a bit crazy with a lot of eoy stuff going on.

November is always one of my favorite months, we spend a lot of time home and together as a family.

I don't know if November will be any more or less busy than October, but there are a few things currently on my list.  It's dentist *season* and we found out yesterday that dd will need braces, so that starts a new slew of appointments.  It's also dd's birthday month, and we will travel for Thanksgiving.  Things at work have picked up a bit, but not a great deal.

Pretty busy here too. I am completing a work project, and dh is starting a new work project. Dh will probably also have to travel, so I am debating whether to come along for some of it.
