I totally agree, we (general we here) need to get off the sidelines and get involved!

1. Today is not a very helpful day for me. I offered someone some baby equipment they are happy to take. I cheered someone up. I will be doing some detail stuff for some baby showers I am planning. Thanks to this post, I will spend the rest of the day finding a way to help a stranger.

2. Since I anticipate this year being one of low stress for us, coming off of several years of high stress, I have decided to make it the year I am the person I have always wanted to be, and a lot of that has to do with being a more powerful force. I will not complain until I have first taken some type of action to change the situation. I will smile and speak softly when I feel like yelling. If I feel I am doing more than my share, I will take on one more task and thank someone for some task they did that would have otherwise fallen to me. When someone is rude to me, I will compliment them. When I am tempted to spend money on something I do not really need, I will wait, put it aside, and decide the next day whether to buy that thing. I have not yet decided what to do with the money I don't spend, but would like to find a way to help someone who has true need.

That is wonderful that you did that Lauren.

What a wonderful story....thank you for sharing it and really affirms to me that is what I'm going to work on this year...looking outward, outside of my just immediate family and look at the little things that I could do that would pay so much forward.

Thank you.

Already done...visited a friend's consignment shop, bought some stuff, dropped off some stuff, took a bunch of cards and did some free marketing for her.

I agree and I think you have to have an open mind and heart to see a lot of things, it is so easy (at least for me) to get wrapped in myself and my family, I need to see outward and not just inward.
