Just stopping in to say I hope you're all having a good week and to post an interesting short article I found on iVillage Health...

I'm interested to know your thoughts on it and thanks!

Take care, Pat

It Pays to Love Your Job

Not caring about your work is bad for your health

A new Gallup poll suggests that being emotionally detached from your job could be bad for your health. According to the survey, Americans who are disconnected from their work are about as likely to be in excellent health as those who are unemployed -- which is to say, not very.

This seems pretty obvious to me. If you're unhappy with how you spend your days, I don't see how that could be good for your health.

Makes sense to me. I had one job I really did not like, and that was a stressful and fairly miserable year of my life. OTOH, that year helped me define what sort of work and work situation I do like. I have been self-employed ever since :).

i don't even think it's job specific, work or SAH doesn't always have to be peaches and cream but i do think there needs to be an element of satisfaction in what you're doing to be happy.

Me too--I used to have bad headaches every day.
