I can't imagine spending that sort of time on something so inane. Nor can I imagine who on earth would want to look at it.

Meh. If it works for the Mom and the extended family, what difference does it make? My oldest sister, whom I adore and admire and consider to be among the most level-headed, rational, no-nonsense people I've ever met, made a Facebook page for her dog. And as soon as she did, I friended him. If it's good enough for my sister, then it's good enough. That's a philosophy that has served me well for 49 years now; I see no reason to change.

well... I do quite a bit of work in social media and whether we like it ornot the way we communicate and share information is changing - email to people in their 20s is as slow as writing an actual letter - it doesn't mean the communication is less VALID -- after all it is still communication -- we all have face book pages with our kids photos on them -- for a young couple who has been weaned on social media this is simply a way to communicate and share the baby's progress and display their pride.

Gotta say that that I would friend a dog a lot faster than a baby, lol.
