I thought since we have been talking furniture and interior decorating, it might be fun to see inside each other's homes.

I have to say, I think you all have lovely homes. I have not seen one single picture that did not impress me.

It also motivates me to get going on our house. Our last house, we had just finished every room to be the way we wanted it when we sold it and moved. This house, we decided to wait until we were here one year before we did anything. We wanted to get the lay of the land, so to speak, and I am really glad we did. But now I am anxious to start making it ours.

My grandparents had wonderful furniture. They got married in the late 30s, and my grandmother did not like the old, heavy family furniture her MIL offered her. So, she went out and bought all new "modern" stuff, which meant that it was stuff made by some of the, now, classic Danish designer/builders. I would have loved to take the dining room, but I would have needed to buy a much bigger house first, lol, and getting it shipped was not so simple either. It was sold at an auction instead, sadly.
