Pre-hot-theatre-date fluff

In the few minutes before my hot date and I leave for dinner before we head off to the theatre, here's some fluff.

plays or live theatre?

What's your seating preference? (Either in live theatre or the movies--I'm no snob)

do you enjoy local theatre? Do you attend the local school productions? I'm speaking of local schools where eithwr your kids don't attend or where they are not involved in the production in any way? What about other live theatre, such as local theatre productions with adult, but amateur actors? (Bea Authur, I know your answer already ;) )

Most recent visit to either kovies or live theatre.

plays or live theatre? -- assuming you mean movies or live theatre, i'm going to say BOTH!

What's your seating preference? (Either in live theatre or the movies--I'm no snob)  -- In the movies I like to be 2/3 of the way back or so, approximately in the middle.  Theatre I like to be closer, middle.

(Bea Authur, I know your answer already ;) )  -- I love local (community and school theatre).  We haven't gone much in recent years, but we used to have season tickets each year to either our local community theatre or to the University's theatre season.  We usually go to one or two of the High School productions - neither kid performs.  I've done high school, college and community theatre myself and hope to get back into it someday.

Most recent visit to either kovies or live theatre. -- Shoot, I can't even remember the last movie we went to.  I think the last theatre we saw was the High School's musical last year  - they did Sound of Music and it was fantastic.

Also assuming you mean live  theatre or movies,  my theatre attending has been limited.

I prefer aisle but seating seems to be more important to DH so I follow his lead which usually means middle.

I have never attended local theatre or a school production that my child was not a part of but have gone to Easter/Christmas programs as churches other than my own.

DH and I saw The Lone Survivor on Wed.   We are planning on seeing The Monument Men on Sunday.

For the movies I like to sit in the back, middle and the theatre, as close to the front as possible.

I enjoy local theatre and I have attended hs productions here and there but mostly when my kids or one of their close friends are in the production.  We have a wonderful outdoor theatre here in the summer that I enjoy, a lot of local kids play some of the minor or choir roles.

Live theatre, it was last summer and a movie...I don't remember, maybe Star Trek with the whole family.  I'm not a big movie goer, it has to be a special movie for me to really want to go, although I have gone with girl friends for chick flicks without it being special.

Have fun tonight!

I enjoy movies, theatre, concerts and even the occasional opera.  Professional, semi-pro, community theatre, or high school musical, I've attended and enjoyed them all, even years after my kids graduated.  My seating preference at the movies, when with my husband, is in the topmost row, outer corners, with no seats in front of us.  He is 6'4', and most of it is leg.  At the theatre, it is in the Mezz, 2nd or 3rd row from the front, ideally, in the center.

Most recent theatre visit was to see "Jersey Boys".  Most recent movie was The Avengers.  We watch most movies at home, on our 60" 3D screen.  We only go to the show if it's something filmed in 3D (not converted), or something we REALLY want to see on a big screen, or in Imax.

Ha!  Thanks to everyone who was able to parse out my "blood sugar plummeting" babbling.  Yes, I meant movies or live theatre, not "plays and ,...."  :)

The last play I saw was a Greek production of Fox Finder. I was not crazy about it.

Typically the middle, I don't like the sides of the theatre b/c the walls feel like they're going to close in on me, Lol.  Yes.  Yes.  Yes, there are local school + college theatres we attend, Les Mis is next actually.  The Lego Movie.

What's your seating preference?

Movies-the seats right at the stairs with no one in front of us, middle. Theatre- front rows, middle.

do you enjoy local theatre? Do you attend the local school productions?

We have gone to our local playhouse. Have seen Grease, Phantom of the Opera and something else I just can't remember right now. We have seen plays on vacations, Pippin at a local playhouse, Hairspray and going to see Chicago on our next vacation. Have seen Saturday Night Fever on Broadway and going to see Wicked on Broadway with my ds's class in June (dd saw it with her class and loved it). Have not been to high school plays since I was in high school. One of my friends sons are always in them though and I have seen them on fb as she puts up the entire play.

Most recent visit to either kovies or live theatre.

I think the last movie I saw was Despicable Me 2 lol.

1. If I had a choice between the two, I'd choose live just because the movie can always be watched later at home.

2. I don't actually have a preference.

3. I haven't been to a local theatre production since I was a young adult. (I briefly dated an actor whose mom headed the community group.) An experimental collection recently overhauled a dive bar into a small theatre, and I've been following them on Facebook--hoping to catch a show one night soon. Otherwise, I've only been to a handful of (major) live productions in recent years.

4. Wolf of Wall Street
