Question about visiting the Houston Area
| Thu, 02-25-2010 - 12:42pm |
Hey, I know there are several people on the board who are familiar with the Houston area. My kid wants to go to Houston to visit the Johnson Space Center next month. The reviews I have seen of the place are decidedly negative....costs too much, not much to see, staff unfriendly, stuff like that. Anybody actually been? And what else should we see and do in the Houston area in March? I have some interest in the Rothko Chapel and I am sure the kids would like to see the USS Texas....what else? Thanks!

My DH and I went to the Johnson Space Center last summer and we loved it. Did no experience any of the negativity that you mentioned. But then we are two Air Force vets that grew up in the 60/70s so we were really in our element. Our kids may not have enjoyed it as much (either as kids or now as adults). On the cost issue it was just the two of us. I can see that it could get costly for a family.
You are going too early in the year, need to wait until April so you can see the Astros. That is the main reason that we go to Houston.
