Question about visiting the Houston Area

Hey, I know there are several people on the board who are familiar with the Houston area. My kid wants to go to Houston to visit the Johnson Space Center next month. The reviews I have seen of the place are decidedly negative....costs too much, not much to see, staff unfriendly, stuff like that. Anybody actually been? And what else should we see and do in the Houston area in March? I have some interest in the Rothko Chapel and I am sure the kids would like to see the USS Texas....what else? Thanks!

Oh you're right, when I think about children I tend to think of the smaller ones rather than teenagers. Teens should love the Space Center, and instead of the Children's Museum I would recommend the Museum of Natural Science and the Miller Outdoor Theatre if there is a performance during your stay.

I think you should go to San Antonio instead, on March 19th, and see me.

There's a thought. I love San Antonio and haven't been for close to a dozen years. I even tried to run it by DH and the boys but so far no dice.

We went a few years ago and loved it.

Have you found good pizza anywhere?

One of my students moved here from New York and she expressed the same thing - that there is no "good pizza" around here. If she asks people where she can get good pizza, she is invariably told things like "Pizza Hut" or "Papa Johns" or other chain pizza places.

I don't know how/where people get their pizza elsewhere in the U.S. or what they consider to be good pizza, so you'll need to be more specific when you ask about "good pizza".
