Question about visiting the Houston Area

Hey, I know there are several people on the board who are familiar with the Houston area. My kid wants to go to Houston to visit the Johnson Space Center next month. The reviews I have seen of the place are decidedly negative....costs too much, not much to see, staff unfriendly, stuff like that. Anybody actually been? And what else should we see and do in the Houston area in March? I have some interest in the Rothko Chapel and I am sure the kids would like to see the USS Texas....what else? Thanks!

You can't go on the Level 9 tour with kids under 14, so you might not have seen the cafeteria and stuff if you went when your kids were little. It's a five hour tour, I don't think many little kids would find it fun.

LOL, DH and i joke about taco bell being one of the first restaurants you drive by as you exit bush international airport, an insult to the real mexican around.

Well, if I ever make it down to where you are, we are going to do a lot of cooking ;).

Pizza hut: Prefabricated dough that is not like proper pizza dough. Lots of oil that is some kind of cheap oil, and definitely not olive oil. It is like a mass-produced imitation of a pizza, the same way those prefab, frozen fries made from powdered potato that has been molded into sticks are mass-produced imitations of proper french fries.

Real pizza should look something like this:

Note the uneven bubbles in the crust edge and the sparing use of sauce and cheese. Pox on you ;) because now I really want to go to Rome.
