Whose birthday is next in your home and how do you plan to celebrate/do you celebrate it -- The Boy turns 14 in less than a month.  He'll be in Germany with his dad on his birthday, so we'll celebrate early.  We're talking about having one of his friend over for swimming, video games and then going out of town for a fried chicken lunch. Maybe the movies or something too.

Have you ever pulled an all nighter -- Yes. But a very long time ago.

What's the best advice you've gotten about parenting and who did it come from -- Pick your battles.  From multple sources.

Whose birthday is next in your home and how do you plan to celebrate/do you celebrate it

Mine, I get a day off of work. The big birthdays are my dd and mom though that come after mine. I just ordered the cakes at dinner and decorations for their rooms for our cruise. Hopefully they will be surprised. Laughing

Have you ever pulled an all nighter

I don't think so

The days are long but the years are short. I don't know if that is actually advice but it makes you realize that you need to make the most out of your days. My mom didn't actually say this phrase but have always said it goes so fast.

In my physical home?  Cyduck's  He turns 12 on May 29.  We're probably not going to do much.

Yes.  Monday through Friday.

My grandmothers.  All their advice was excellent; I can't really choose one specific piece of it.  But both had a sound handle on child raising and I was happy for their guidance.

My youngest, but it's not for quite a while so we don't have any plans at the moment.  Yes, earlier this week.  Trust yourself as a mother, and it was a really good friend of mine.

.  1. Mine, everyone will wish me a happy birthday.  2. Yes. 3. "You have a lot of balls in the air, which is fine, as long as you realize that the ones that represent your loved ones are made of crystal and the others are made of rubber.  If you have to drop one, make sure it's one that will bounce."  From my friend and mentor Muriel Battle, longtime educator in our community.  The community recently named a school after her.  I miss her very much.

That's excellent advice :)  I may have to borrow that so my future grandkids can use it on a fluff thread once I'm gone ;)

DD2, the middle of next month, She will pick the place for dinner and I will make her favorite cake.  I typically buy a present but these last couple years I've been treating them to their favorite store and letting them pick out something (nolonger toys r us except for DS, Lol).  A lot lately, It's been already one year since DD2's diabetes dx and I never realized how true a return to infancy this would mean (like the doctors told us) until we lived it, Lots of checking sugars overnight.  Lots, My mother had a lot of special advice and I read a quote on facebook recently that really spoke to me too, it's easier to build a child up than to repair an adult, I love tha tone and I believe it.

Your cat?  Cool.

I had one cat and his birthday was the 4th of July, Our dog's birthday is Valentines day.  Easy days to remember but sometimes I forget they were also the dates we got our pets.
