How long have you been married? (Been together for those not married)
28 years
How did you meet?
We were stationed in the Air Force together in Japan. The shop that we worked in was on the other side of the base from our living quarters so we had a shop truck to take us back and forth to work. One of his additional duties was to drive that truck. I was worried about missing the truck my first duty day so got there pretty early. He always had to get there early to go through the retired check list. We had about 15 minute alone before any of the other troops arrived.
What do you think it the "secret" to your success?
I think that we are just a good fit. We are very different in a lot of ways but rather that those differences working against each other they complement each other. Or as MY DH puts it "You put up with me".
Any special plans for today?
Nah , pretty much a normal Sunday. They have been advertising heart shaped pizzas on TV so I thought I would make one for dinner.
Steve (dh) and I have been married 3.5 years.
Been together more than 20 years. The secret? Not sure there is one. We are both patient in different ways, which probably helps. I think we both feel that, on balance, we are better together than we would each be on our own.
No special plans. Dh has been in a meeting for the past 4 hours, and I have been tending my sick baby (the 17yo baby).

How long have you been married? **13 years
How did you meet? **It's a very long story, but to put it bluntly, on a street corner! He was riding a bike home from a party and I was leaving a bar.
What do you think it the "secret" to your success? **Respect for each other, good communication and making sure to spend time together as a couple, w/o the kids
Any special plans for today? **We do, but not because it's Valentine's Day. We were supposed to take the kids on an overnight ski trip tomorrow and Tuesday. However, b/c of all the snow and the federal govt being closed, dh now has to work on Tuesday (one of his clients is a fed govt agency and they couldn't meet last week). Not wanting to brave the ski resort crowds on a major holiday weekend by going today and tomorrow, instead we just booked a trip for tonight and tomorrow to a Hyatt resort an hour away that has lots of kids' activities. The bonus is that I found a special rate so that instead of booking a suite and sharing with four kids, we got adjoining rooms, so dh and I can enjoy our privacy tonight. ;) Normally, aside from getting my kids cards and some candy, we don't celebrate Valentine's Day so this is a special treat for them, esp after being home from school for nine days straight, and they are off Mon-Wed this coming week too!

There's no real "secret." We promised to love, cherish, honor, respect, blah, blah, blah, and both of us believe in keeping promises.
Any special plans for today?
Strangely enough, yes. We have a job candidate flying in this evening and I have to take her to dinner and DH is coming along, along with a colleague from my department.
