How long have you been married? (Been together for those not married)

Coming up on 37 years in June.

How did you meet?

Had classes together at community college. He had a motorcycle at the time.

What do you think it the "secret" to your success? We're both too stubborn to throw in the towel; we don't go to bed together or get up together; my lawyer died (my fil); he gets my mom in the divorce. In reality, we are best friends and have never stopped loving each other. Life wouldn't be the same without him and I have no intention of ever finding out.

Any special plans for today?

I stayed with my mil all morning while AT&T worked on her phone lines. Now I'm babysitting all the grandkids while both sets of parents are out celebrating. Dh is at work. We finally getting rid of the plague after almost 2 weeks. We were all sick at the same time. Except for dh. Dylan is a week behind in school and I'm a week behind in ah sewing. So we're both playing catch up.

I have always outweighed dh even while we were dating. He sneezes and loses 5 pounds. I've had the plague for 2 weeks, not eaten a thing more solid than orange juice in the last 14 days and still have not lost an ounce. Life isn't fair. I can't even lose weight being sick. What good is being sick then?

Together 20, married 15 years

How did you meet?

At work. He dated my sister in middle school, he thought she was an only child.

What do you think it the "secret" to your success?

Love, perseverance, common interests and continued sexual attraction.

Any special plans for today?

We had a fabulous, if simple, dinner cooked by moi: shrimp cocktail for appetizer, lobster and fillet mignon for the main course with salad, baked potatoes, and home baked rolls for sides.

Fruit and yogurt smoothies to finish.

How long have you been married? (Been together for those not married) Married 14 years, together 17 years.

How did you meet? At a party (but he had already spotted me on the way to the party--long story). We caught each's other's eye, he came over to introduce himself, and that was pretty much it.

What do you think it the "secret" to your success? No secrets, just commitment.

Any special plans for today? Not really. We went out for Chinese New Year's last night with the kids and we're having a nice dinner at home tonight.

Make sure you check if she ever shot anyone.

Six years - our "date-a-versiry" is Valentines Day! ;-)

How did you meet? At a dinner outing for women -- I walked in the door of the restaurant and she was the first person I met... I never laughed so much or blushed so hard in my life.

What do you think it the "secret" to your success? That we make each other laugh- that even on the rare occassions we fight we always manage to laugh in the middle of it - that we're silly and that we play and that we don't take life all that seriously.

Any special plans for today? She worked (she's a nurse) but we had a afamily dinner at home last night and shared our gifts -- she and the girl got me sparkly dangly diamond earrings!

Jumping in late, here...

How long have you been married? (Been together for those not married)
--We've been married for almost 9 months.

How did you meet?
--We met at work. My desk got moved about 4 feet from his and I thought he was cute. We started talking and voila--the rest is history.

What do you think it the "secret" to your success?
--Laughing. No matter what, we can make each other laugh. We've been through some of the most stressful things in the last year--unplanned pregnancy, getting married, living together for the first time, buying a house, having a baby/sleep deprivation, etc--and we've both been pretty frustrated at various times. But we know how to make each other smile and that helps so, so much. That and we love each other. Just genuinely, completely love who the other person is.

Any special plans for today?
--Well, on Friday, DH sent me flowers at work and Saturday we went out to nice dinner (first time out alone since November) and we were supposed to go to a fun bar afterwards. However, we were both so tired, that we just went home, watched Family Guy in bed and ate chocolate covered pretzels. It was pretty awesome.

Yes, same here. It also sounds as if she meant to kill her brother, i.e. that it was not an accident.

How long have you been married? (Been together for those not married)
7 years

How did you meet?

In junior high.

What do you think it the "secret" to your success?

Umm? Commitment and a willingness to overlook a lot of stuff that gets on each others' nerves.

Any special plans for today?

We celebrated DH's grandma's birthday yesterday. MIL was going to babysit so we could go out to dinner, but she decided not to because of the snow and because her brother was in town. We did make desserts for each other from Joy of Cooking. DH asked me to make date bars and he made a chocolate chip pecan pie for me.
