As I posted below we are in the process of putting in wood laminate and ceramic tile floors. I am planning on buying a Swiffer type mop (the kind with the soap on the hamdle) any recomendations on brand?

Yup, don't get the solution holding one from Grab It.

We put down a wood laminate and DH bought the spray stuff they recommend. So we just use the dry swiffer and spray that from it's bottle. Then we can use the dry swiffer to dust mop too.

We had the Pledge one and I didn't like it (we used it on the vinyl in the kitchen.) I felt like it left a haze on the floor. I'd rather spray 409 on a spot and use a plain ol' sponge mop.

I have a swiffer plain one. I was not very impressed with it in my kitchen so I went back to my old mop and bucket. Today when I was at the store looking at the wet mops they had some vinegar pads for wood floors to use with the plain swiffer so I got some to use until I make a final desision. They may be all I need for the areas that we have the wood as it will not get as dirty as the kitchen.

Even though I use the wets (sometimes swiffer, sometimes grab it--just depends what is on sale), I still hand scrub my kitchen floor twice a month and hand scrub the wood floor about once a month.

I like the plain Swiffer with wet or dry pads for quick touch ups on the vinyl floor, but not for serious cleaning. For that I have one of those Libman "dry with a twist" mops. As much as I hate it, for vinyl and other tile floors, there really is no substitute for a periodic scrubbing with a brush. I do that a couple of times a year.

My MIL just got some new kind of composite flooring in her kitchen. She got the Clorox mop with the tank and just loves it--I'm leaning toward trying one because MIL keeps her house immaculate and if she likes it, it must be pretty good.
